In memory of Mr.Rabe,the"Exhibition of Documents and Historical Records on John Rabe",organized by the Memorial for the victims of Nanjing Massacre,was unfolded on September 10,1997.The bronze statue of Mr.Robe in the German Siemens Numerical Control Company Ltd in Nanjing was unveiled on the day of the Inauguration Ceremony of the Corporation on 16,October.In August the same year,the Jiangsu People Publishing House published the Chinese edition of Robe's Diaries.

    To mark the 60th anniversary of Ms.Vautrin's passing away,the International Seminar on Nanjing Massacre was held on the campus of Nanjing Normal University.

On April 19,1998,Margaret Reed,president of the Australian Parliament visited the Memorial,and her delegation.

The delegation from the United Kingdom paid a visit to the Memorial in 1987.

On September 13,1996,the former American Minister of National Defense James Schinleiger led the delegation of the Nantional Committee of the American-China Relationship to visit the Memorial.He wrote:"This is a shocking and tragic historical event beyond compare,and very instrutive."

On December 13,1994,the people from all walks of life in Nanjing gathered in the Memorial Square for a "Candle Light Mourning" service.This picture shows the night scene of the ceremony.
