
Notes of the Occupied Capital in Three Months.
While the western news media were publicizing the truth of Nanjing Massacre ahd the misery of the refugees of their exodus,the Chinese media and publishers were focusing their attention on the event too.These books were published in 1938:Bieeding and weeping Records of the Sacked Capital,Notes of the Occupied Capital in Three Months and Notes of the Raped Capital in Five Months.The three Chinese writer were Guo Qi,Jiang Gonggu and Li Keheng,who,based on their own experinces,condemned the brutalities of the Japanese soldiers.
Xu Shuxi,born in 1892,was a professor of Yanjing University.He collected more than 400 reports on the Japanese atrocities in Nanjing gathered by the International Commission of Nanjing Safety Zone from December13,1937 to February 7,1938.He compiled them into a book Documents of the Nanjing Safty Zone and the book was published by Kelly & Walsh,,Ltd,Shanghai-HongKong-Singapore in 1939.

December 18:according to the refugee camp in the Army University,some 200 refugees were arrested on 16 December and only 5 of them were back;on 17 December,another group of 26 were taken away and on 18 December additional 30 people were captured.Japanese soldiers looted from the camp money,luggage,a sack of rice and 400 blankets of hospital beds.A man of 25 was killed and another elderly woman was kicked to the ground and she died about 20 minutes after.
