The monument at Straw Gorge,where some 57,000 Chinese civilians and soldiers were murdered on December 18, 1937.

Tang Guangpu, a survivor from the massacre at Straw Sandals Gorge,gave a personal account of Japanese atrocities and showed the bayonet wound on his back.

Massive Slaughtering Chinese soldiers and civilians alongside Yangtze River was reported by the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shinbun.
